Young Griffo are an eclectic original rock band. Reviews have defined the band as "interesting mix of alternative rock and post punk sounds" with particular reference to a "roaring live" show. This is modern rock music written with a lyrical element that is intangibly and bitterly Australian. That said, Young Griffo gleefully ignores the predictable pastiche of popular indie music and openly embraces the fire and noise of fuzzed out riffs and pounding rock beats.

Formed in early 2010, the band released a double A side Blood to Bone/Last of Me within 6 months, with Blood to Bone voted number 28 on the 4ZZZ Hot 100 for 2010. Continuing to write in early 2011, YG released the single "Pennies" which reached the number 1 spot on the Triple J Unearthed Indie charts. Hot on the heels of this release, the band has supporting touring acts the caliber of British India, Floatingme and One Thousand Needles in Red. Additionally, YG were a feature act in Brisbane’s Valley Fiesta and are well established as a unique and passionate live act. A culmination of this work has resulted in the release of the "Tiny Islands" EP, now available for free on Bandcamp http://younggriffo.bandcamp.com/album/tiny-islands

The best of creative music is delivered without calculation or fashion. In live performance or in studio recordings, the Young Griffo image is identical. Three musicians, drenched in sweat, wrenching every note, every beat and every word into sound - as if it were their last.

On tour with British India:
15th Nov - Harvey Road Tavern - Gladstone
16th Nov - O'Dowd's Bar - Rockhampton
17th Nov - Andergrove Tavern - Mackay
