So...how do you enter?
Write an original song and record it. Check out our go to guide in the features section for all the info you may need.
Sign up as an artist on this website and upload your track, or tracks. We will only be selecting one track to be recorded,
but you are welcome to upload up to three if you so wish.
Get all your friends to register on triple j Unearthed and rate and review your tracks. We need to know that your
school supports you too!
If you are already registered as an artist, you just need to check the 'Unearthed High' checkbox under competitions

Do we all have to go to the same high school?
No. 50% or more of your band must be from the same school. The rest can be from other schools or not in school at all. If you are a duo, you must both be from the same school. If you have 3 members, 2 must be from the same school. If you have 4 members, 2 must be from the same school. If you have 5 members, 3 must be from the same school...and so on.

Our best song is a Radiohead cover. Can we submit that?
No. You must submit an original track.
We use an awesome sample from the Presets, can we submit that?
No. Your track cannot contain unauthorised samples.
I’m a singer/songwriter – am I eligible?
No. We are looking for the best high school band in Australia, and have left the entry time long enough for students to actually start a band, so if you are not currently in a band and play music – now is a good time to find some likeminded mates at you high school!
Do I have to get my principal's approval?
Only if you are a finalist. As part of this prize involves triple j putting on a concert in your high school it's important we get a signature from either your principal or another school authority. We will be contacting all bands in the shortlist before we announce finalists.
