Black Stump formed in 2011 and consists of 5 members who met through school, all sharing a common interest in rock music. We started playing covers of some of our favourite bands like Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Greenday, Stray Cats, mixing the old and the new. We have since found our own musical voice and written 8 original songs to date, all with a strong guitar focus with some memorable riffs and lyrics that people can relate to.

Our first gig of our all original set was at Blackwood at The generator in November 2011 and was well received by the mixed age crowd, who appreciated the fusion of classic rock sounds and modern day influences. Our bands performance caught the attention of the organisers of the Adelaide Scorcherfest who asked us to open the show at The Duke of York November 2011. Playing in front of an audience of rock enthusiasts and performers Black Stump made a great impression and we were encouraged by the very positive reaction from our peers.

Black Stump have performed on several occasions at Youth Indie Sound run by the Prospect Council. We were also invited by the Tea Tree Gully Council to play at The Civic Park Spectacular supporting Jessica Mauboy in February this year, which was an awesome experience for us to be up on the big stage. We also performed at Scorcherfest and Youth Indie Sound in April 2012.

Black Stump have also been selected to perform at the Off The Couch series of gigs run by Carclew Youth Arts at Fowlers Live in May.

We are enthusiastic, committed, enjoy performing and have achieved a lot in a very short space of time. This is due to the constant hard work being put in by the band in addition to our team of close family supporters in the background. We continue to polish our existing numbers, write new music and improve our stagecraft and performance professionalism. Nothing would make us happier than to be successful writing, recording and performing our own brand of music and taking it all to the next level in 2012.

Bland start and whiny vocals - sorry didn't get past first minute of this one! More 'pop' than 'rock'
