Kingfisha are a 5 piece reggae/dub band from Brisbane. They have taken the Jamaican rhythms and infused them with honest songwriting and strong melodies to create their own sound… Honest, Australian Reggae. They began as a studio project with Anthony Forrest, Andrew Stephens and Shannon Green, following the disbandment of dub/electro act ‘Promiscuous’. In 2008 the live band was formed and they released their debut EP, “Promises”.
Having completed several east-coast tours and performing at some of the country’s finest festivals, in only a short time Kingfisha have emerged as one of the strong up-and-comers of the Australian roots music scene.
Kingfisha have just returned from their first tour of New Zealand , playing at the ‘Parihaka Peace Festival’, and being a part of the ‘Parihaka Thankyou Tour’ of the north and south island. The first half of 2010 will see them working on the release of their debut album from which they will launch their first single

Anthony's voice on this is like melted butter. And honey. And silk sheets. It's SMOOTH, ok!

I do love a bit of dub reggae, especially when it's as vibey and smooth as this. Great stuff.
