Brisbane's eight-piece sweets whip up an assortment of funked up, soul-d out melodies mixed with Latin rhythms and garnishing it all with a spoonful of grooved out Reggae. A sound made by music lovers to make lovers of music. The lush Polynesian vocal blends of Nia Falekakala and Nikkie McWalters balance the range of tastes supplied. From the spicy percussive hits of the Bam-bam boys to the silky smooth sax of Josh Appleby, a show’s menu is always sure to please any palate.

Commonly referred to as “The Strings”, they began as a three-piece band to perform at a local charity fundraiser in West End. Keeping the spirit of unity within a community has been a belief that has continued throughout the bands being. This has also proved to garner a dedicated local String-following as they continue to hold large turnouts at Brisbane venues such as The Shire, Lock‘n’load and The Joynt. Since, Chocolate Strings have been heard on stages all around Australia, as well New Zealand, performing at festivals such as Woodford Folk Festival, Rainbow Serpent, Peats Ridge, Kuranda and Island Vibe to name a few.

One thing is for sure regarding the taste of Chocolate Strings...in order to savour something you first have to sample it.

So, please...enjoy.

Great brass line. The song itself is more of a jam. Obviously a great chance for your drummer/s to work off their dinner. Pretty cool though.
