Hot Water Music, Latterman, Small Brown Bike
Milestones are one of our Soundwave competition winners for 2012. The Brisbane 5-piece will be taking their blend of progressive emo-inspired punk rock to Soundwave Brisbane this Sunday 25th Feb at RNA Showgrounds.
Interview: 20 February 2012
Tell us about your music. How did you develop your sound?
We play catchy, sincere & honest punk rock, inspired by such bands such as Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, Saves The Day, Osker & Small Brown Bike etc. Our sound has just developed organically from bringing our own individual influences, thoughts and ideas into playing music together. It has really been a natural progression over releases and will probably continue to develop.
You’re the Brisbane winners of our SOUNDWAVE competition. What can SOUNDWAVE revelers expect from the Milestones live show?
Yeah it was a quite a pleasant surprise, we couldn't be more happy about it. Thanks everyone! They can expect an energetic punk show & to come have a beer with us after!
What are you most looking forward to about the Brisbane SOUNDWAVE on Feb 25th? Who are you psyched to see?
Honestly were are pretty psyched to be playing alongside some personal favorite artists of ours, such as Thursday, Saves The Day, The Menzingers, Cro Mags, Fireworks & I Am The Avalanche just to name a few!
What are your earliest memories of seeing Australian heavy music live?
A bunch of us went to a few lions den shows before that closed down (I guess it would be comparative to the arty, but in Brisbane).
What’s coming up for you in 2012?
We have a few things in the works; Organising our next Aus tour at the moment as well as writing and recording a 7" to be released later in the year.
Australian music is…?
...in need of more house shows.
