The Guppies
Genre: Indie, Punk
Region: Newcastle, NSW
Members: Lachlan Morris - Guitar + Vox, Woody - Bass, Angus Geraghty - Drums
Sounds Like: The Vaccines, The Libertines, Wavves
Influences: Cloud Nothings, The Bronx, Wavves
Artist Website: www.facebook.com/TheGuppies

The Guppies formed in the depths of a local suburban garage and are influenced by The Vaccines, Cloud Nothings, The Libertines and a whiff of petrol fumes from the trusty family Volvo. Their sound evokes wild memories reminiscent of sneaking out at 2am, the angst of being a teenager and the warmth of grandpa’s favourite loafers.

Being named Triple j Unearthed High finalists, regular airplay of ‘Never Liked Mondays’ and ‘Bad Blood’ along with festival slots at Groovin The Moo, Peats Ridge and Fat as Butter has led to The Guppies well and truly establishing themselves in the Aus music scene.

Having recently played along side Bloods, Cabins, Velociraptor, Deep Sea Arcade, Ball Park Music, You Am I and more, plus supports slots with The Rubens and Birds Of Tokyo on the horizon, 2013 is set to be an extensive year for the band which will see them release their debut EP.

This one kicks along with bruised garage energy. A big return from The Guppies.

Great to hear some new music from The Guppies! This is a great step forward from your last recordings: it's bright, punchy, catchy-as-hell and super ...

The singer's snarly voice is what makes this work. The song is sure to stick with you all through the week too!
