Over the past year Teeth & Tongue has performed with Juana Molina (Argentina) Mountain Goats (US), Bachelorette (NZ), Jen Cloher, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Beaches, Wagons and Songs, and has toured the country with Jack Ladder and Kid Sam.

Jess has just filmed an episode of the hit SBS television music show 'Rockwiz' as a guest musician, and released Teeth & Tongue's new single 'Sad Sun'.

In November last year Jess Cornelius released Monobasic, her first full-length release under the moniker Teeth & Tongue. Essentially a solo project, Monobasic combined elements of pop, garage and post-punk with metronomic precision and haunting vocals, resulting in radio favourite 'There Is A Lightness To My Bones' and hypnotic crooner 'Stacey Come Over'. Mess and Noise magazine called the album "One of the most damn listenable releases of 2008", The Age EG called it "a brilliant rough-cut gem".

This year sees the creation of Teeth & Tongue mach II; a more spontaneous realisation of ideas in the form of band mates Steve Masterson (Bird Blobs), Marc Reguiro-Mckelvie (Popolice) and Patrick Millman, a unit who have been performing live as Teeth & Tongue for the past six months. The sound is grittier and looser- a band's interpretation of Jess Cornelius's captivating songs but it retains its mysterious beauty.

Teeth & Tongue is currently on tour with Ned Collette and a new album is planned for early 2010.

Reviews of 'Monobasic': "...Cornelius's songs are strange, intriguing beasts; "Come From Nowhere" has a touch of the Siouxsie Sioux '80s gothic thing about it..."Stacey Come Over is one of a few that sound like good post-punk such as Public Image or Magazine. Sometimes she's PJ Harvey, shouting and cursing and being blue. Sometimes she's Joan As Police Woman, all languid and sexy and poetic. It's very good. "- Chris Johnston, The Age.

"Jess Cornelius' sassy solo debut (as Teeth & Tongue) is a soulful, lo-fi work of genuine intrigue." Dan Rule, Music Australia Guide

"Beautifully raw and affecting, Jess Cornelius's voice makes you sit up and take notice..." - MX Magazine

"...Completely captivating" - Three Thousand
