Heroes for hire
fall out boy, All time low, hit the lights
Heroes for Hire have slammed their way onto the Soundwave lineup in Sydney courtesy of Unearthed with their tight, anthemic pop-punk. Congratulations!
Interview: 15 February 2010
Tell us about your music – how did you develop your sound?
Throughout high school we all listened to bands like New Found Glory, One Dollar Short, Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy - they have all been a big influence on our sound. There are a few tracks on our new album which are a little more technical; we have thrown in some disco beats, a couple of breakdowns and really worked on the melodies to keep things interesting.
What can the Soundwave festival audience expect from you live show?
There may be some male nudity, shitty tattoos and a bunch of unfit
dudes plying music. Jokes aside, we always try to have a good time on stage and get involved with the audience. Soundwave will be no different!
Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Soundwave Festival?
This years line up has got to be one of best Soundwaves yet! I'm most looking forward to seeing Four Year Strong plus Paramore, Anthrax, A
Day To Remember, Set Your Goals, Meshuggah… the list goes on!
What’s coming up in the future?
We have a really busy year ahead of us. We just got home from a tour with our mates from the Gold Coast, Skyway. Next we are about to film a video for the first single from our record, which is "Bright Lights In Paradise". Our debut record, The Life Of The Party, comes out early April then we go on a national tour with an amazing band from Detroit called Fireworks. After that it is more touring, we are stoked!
Australian music is?
Unappreciated! There are so many talented local bands kicking arse in your local venues. There is nothing better then going out with your mates and watching a great Aussie band.
