Adelaide indie kids THE SHINY BRIGHTS were born in a riverside warehouse amongst an army of used whitegoods. They play hands in the air indie rock that will drive you wild! They've already shared the stage with the Wombats and Apollo Heights so are sure to be in their element when the play the Adelaide BDO!

Tell us about your music and how you formed?
Basically we are all mates from way back – we just got together from being in similar social circles. Our music has been described as up-beat and energetic. Our live show like a bull in a china shop.
What can the audience expect from you at Big Day Out?
Expect flailing limbs, a guitarist standing on a drum kit and something reminiscent of 5 x ADHD’s on a bouncy castle.
You’ve already played some impressive supports, what has been your highlight?
Playing with bands that inspire us is always amazing, but the highlight so far was definitely The Wombats gig. The crowd was great and The Wombats were awesome guys – we finished of the night necking a bottle of gin courtesy of Tord. That’s gotta be a highlight.
Who are you looking forward to seeing at the Big Day Out?
We’re massive Arctic Monkeys fans, that will be amazing – and Neil Young of course!
What’s coming up in the future?
To play BDO will be overwhelming to say the least. Busy times ahead; we have Southbound Festival, Clipsal 500 After Race Concert and the Fuse Festival on the cards and a new recording to come in 2009 as well.
Australian music is?
Underrated! It’s something to be proud of.
