Tell us about your music – how did you develop your sound?
Each member of The Salvadors has very different musical influences. The sound that we create seems to be the happy medium between these influences - a unique compromise. We tell quirky stories that are larglely open ended...stories about Chilean discoteque dwelers, ten pin bowlers and sharing smokes with James Dean. We hope the listener fills in the blanks and interprets the tale as they wish.
What can the Laneway festival audience expect from you live show?
Generally whenever we have an important show something goes wrong. Last month at our EP launch Cat’s keyboard packed it in 5 minutes before we started and Eugene forgot to wear his trousers.
Apart from this our live show is raw, honest and full of energy.
Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Laneway Festival?
Eddy Current Suppression Ring will no doubt be genius, and I’ve heard Black Lips know how to entertain a crowd. And The Middle East considering they were Unearthed by JJJ.
What’s coming up in the future?
More interstate shows, a new EP/album and by all accounts, rising sea levels which is a bit of a worry to be honest. Unless you have gills.
Australian music is?
This is a tough question. We like alot of Australian music. There are alot of small bands around that have the ability to be superstars which is an exciting thing.
