Interview: 11 June 2010
Tell us about your music – how do you develop your sound?
Oh man, I hate these type of questions! Essentially we're a punk band and have all previously played guitar/bass in other punk bands, but when we started playing together we made a decision to try and be more than just that. I suppose our sound came to be what is because of our musical taste; and as that is constantly expanding I guess our sound will change along with it. We're always showing each other new music and getting excited on it together.

What can the Come Together Audience expect from your live show?
A lot of nervous energy, 7 or so songs and probably a Simpson's reference chucked in there somewhere. We're used to playing tiny little stages, in warehouses and in our basement so hopefully we'll be able to fill up the stage with some sort of presence and hopefully some of the kids like it.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Come Together?
Gyroscope will be a very nostalgic experience for a few of us. I remember first hearing 'Midnight Express' on Triple J years ago and not catching the name of the band, I was furious! I then spent a good week or so trying to figure out who it was. Once I did, I went out to try and find any CDs that they had. Also looking forward to seeing Toe to Toe and saying 'hello' to Matty Ann who I played in a band with once upon a time, I reckon he will probably kick off when he sees me backstage.

What’s coming up in the future?
We don't want to give away too much at this stage, but we're busy writing for a new release and planning a tour. I guess you'll just have to keep your ears close to the ground.

Australian music is?
Australian music is not only not bad, it's knot bread... I kid, I kid. Australian music and Australian artists, whether they are the friends we play shows with or the bands we looked up to, they make us want to give this music everything we've got.
