Interview: 3 August 2009
Tell us about your music - how did you develop your sound?
Our music is atmospheric, introspective, textural, ambient, electronic pop. We've always wanted to create this sort of music, but it took us a long time to learn how to achieve the results we were after. We bought and sold countless pieces of equipment and experimented with a variety of different writing techniques and approaches before arriving at our current set-up and working methodology. The sound itself is something we all are quite proud of. It is the result of years of hard work and persistence, relentless perfectionism (sometimes to our detriment) and a real desire to describe/explore our views/feelings through our art in a unique yet honest setting.

Tell us about your live gigs.
The stage is a cluttered space with leads and wires running everywhere between lots of fun pieces of equipment. Between all the drums, electronics, keyboards, mics and effects units/pedals, we are all kept busy during the shows, constantly pushing buttons, twiddling knobs and hitting things. Whilst our focus is mostly on performing the music, we try and create an engaging visual scene around us, with interactive animated visuals created by our drummer Cam. These animations are projected onto and around us and serve as our lighting, as well as encouraging a more engaged form of listening with a direct synergy between what you see, and what you hear.

Tell us about your beginnings - you all used to live together?
In High School Nick asked Daphne to be more than friends (didn't last), then Nick and Cam became friends through a high school rock band before leaving and starting something new and interesting with Daphne. We all moved in to a house together and became best of friends, constantly making music together and then going out and having fun.

What's coming up in the future?
Seeing as it took five years to fully realise our sound and finish our debut album, we are incredibly keen to finish our second album within a year. We will start writing new material immediately, and keep progressing our sound in a way that helps maintain the love for what we do. We are also looking forward to seeing more of this great country and meeting anyone along the way who is interested in/ supportive of what we are doing.

Australian music is?
Full of surprises and some of the most amazingly talented and lovely people.
