Shaman Son play loud swirling music with catchy riffs and a slice of delay. An acid test for a new generation of kids who want to turn on, tune in and rock out.

Interview: 28 April 2009
Tell us about your music - how did you develop your sound?
We've been playing together since 2005 under various names. it started as noisy messy psyche pop rock (like the stuff on our unearthed page) then as times and circumstances changed it slowly became a lot harder and maybe just a bit darker, there's still a little bit of pop melody in there though ... just trying to make it as heavy as auntie bevy, she makes the rocking world go round.
Tell us about your live show.
A bunch of skinny hairy gits jumping around a stage blasting out a stupidly loud sea of fuzz, feedback, phaser and echo...and some songs.
Who are some recent influences? Who do you like to play with?
There hasn't really been anything in the last 15 years that has directly influenced us. Most of our influences comes from sixties and seventies psychedelia and early nineties alternative and grunge. really dig Black Mountain, My Morning Jacket, and Immortal Technique though. We just love to play and party with our mates, specially space rockers The Demon Parade and Adelaide prog heads Lady Strangelove....both choice, check em out!
What's coming up in the future?
We're recording a whole lot of new material at the moment so there will be a bunch of singles and EP's being released in the coming months. We're doing an Espy front bar residency on Friday nights during May, we're also planning to hunt down the beast of yeast and tour the country by the end of the year.
Australian music is?
Like shelving chilli.... Nah there is some great stuff out there, i just think you don't hear much of it on the radio.
